OCR: AM/FM 5 MIDI SONGS ARRANGED AND SUBMITTED EXCLUSIVELY TO AM/FM BY TERRY DELANEY! All songs stored in Standard MIDI format. + Note that AM/FM Magazine Disk #13 contains a new version of the + + MIDI to Music-X conversion utility. You may use that utility to + + easily convert these songs to Music-X Performance format. Terry DeLaney online...: To The AM/FM People: This music was done in Bars&Pipes Professional 2.0. The synth and drum patterns follow the Roland standard. Owners of the SoundCanvas won't have to do any fiddling around to get the right sounds. Everyone has heard the Moonlight Sonata (yawn). But how about the 3rd Movement? A demonic, pulsing piece, the notes writhing up and down the scale like an anaconda. Now, put a bass and a beat to it and you've got Beethoven, Rocked Out. Turn this one up! Editor's note: You're right Terry, this is one helluva MIDI piece. For those who DON'T have a SoundCanvas, you WILL have to remove the Program Change messages at the start of each track, and set up the following instruments: Channel 1: Saulave - or some cool lead Channel 2: Piano Channel 3: Also piano Channel 4: Strings Channel 5: Bass Channel 10: Drums (As ever) Each drum sound is stored in a separate tracks, which makes it easier to move notes around to use other drum sounds; and it makes life a whole lot easier for people who use other drum setups than the Roland Standard. I wrote these two pieces, originally in (gasp!) SONIX. Editor's notes: Thanks Terry, it's always nice with some our reader's own composititions. I especially enjoyed "African Jam", which *really* jammed on my setup. Once again; for those of you who don't have a SoundCanvas, remove the Program Change message from the start of each track, and set up your gear like this: African Jam: Channel 1: Sax Channel 2: Strings Channel 3: Steeldrum (works nice with a Mallet too) Channel 4: Flute Channel 5: Synth-bass, type 1 \ Select different sounds for these two Channel 6: Synth-bass, type 2 / Channel 7: Fuzzy Guitar Channel 8: Saulave; lead synth Channel 9: Woodblock Channel 10: Drums including Bongos On The Street: Channel 1: Violin Channel 2: Harp Channel 3: Synth Brass Channel 4: Synth Bass Channel 5: Piano Channel 6: Fuzz Guitar Channel 10: Drums (With a beat) I threw in a Christmas tune, since December is coming up. Editor's Notes: Thanks, Terry :-) (Hoe hoe hoe). MIDI Setup: Channel 1: Melody instruments (whatever you like!) Channel 2: Piano Channel 3: Star Theme Channel 4: Choir Channel 5: Bass Channel 10: Drums The original SONIX composer is unknown. I did so much repair work on this song, that I was tempted to call it my own. But I won't. MIDI setup: Channel 1: Charang Channel 2: Synth Brass Channel 3: Synth Bass Channel 4: Bass/Lead instrument Channel 10: Drums I think it's great that someone is issuing a disk magazine for Amiga musicians. I hope you guys keep it up. Don't worry; we will. If you write me back, could you let me know if you know where I can find a utility that converts tracker modules to MIDI? I'm stationed in Turkey and have no access to software except by mailorder. Thanx! Take a look in this issue's AM/FM Catalogue, and you'll find a program called AMFCPro (Amiga Music File Converter). It converts from tracker modules to Music-X format. Also on that disk is a utility which converts from MusicX to Standard MIDI (and the other way around), so that's one way to do it. Terry J. DeLaney PSC 94 Box 912 APO AE 09824-5000 Thanks for the nice submission, Terry. Keep it up! - Ed AM/FM
